QuaRENtine Classroom

A brain, a heart, and some courage…OH MY!

Students will experience the imaginative world of OZ, as created by author L. Frank Baum—all while learning about the art form of Readers Theatre. During this workshop, participants will take a brief glimpse into the life of L. Frank Baum; and learn about the OZ series of books (yes, there’s more than one)! Students will be led through a brief overview of how Readers Theatre is created, and explore the ways in which the art form makes an impression on its audience. Using the story of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, focus will be placed on story interpretation, attention to detail, speaking, and listening. (PARTICIPATION IN PREVIOUS SESSIONS IS NOT REQUIRED.)

Class size is limited to 12, and requires a minimum of 6 participants. Grades 3-5.

2 weeks (4 sessions – Mondays and Wednesdays), beginning Monday, June 8th @ 4:00 PM (Class sessions are: 6/8, 6/10, 6/15, and 6/17) - 40 minutes.
