November 6 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Journalist Mya Frazier is coming to Mansfield for a down-to-earth conversation about money, opportunity, and why getting ahead in America can feel harder than it should.
Based in the Midwest, Mya’s award-winning work has been featured in places like The New York Times Magazine, Bloomberg Businessweek, and The New Yorker. She digs deep into how our financial systems — things like credit scores and lending — shape everyday lives, especially for people just trying to make ends meet.
In this talk, she’ll pull back the curtain on how the credit system really works and how it can keep people stuck, no matter how hard they try. You’ll walk away with new ways to think about fairness, opportunity, and what it takes to build a future that works for everyone.
This is a great event for anyone who’s ever wondered why the system feels stacked — and what we can do about it.
Keep the Conversation Going
Want to talk more? Join the follow-up session, “Economic Mobility,” on Thursday, November 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Ontario Branch Library. Everyone’s welcome to share ideas and reflections from Mya’s talk.
