Internship Opportunities at the Renaissance Theatre

The Renaissance Performing Arts Association is proud to offer four hands-on internship opportunities each year, supported by the Richland County Foundation.

These internships provide undergraduate students with valuable mentorship, professional experience, and the chance to work with a dynamic team in one of Ohio’s premier performing arts organizations.

Technical Internship

Seasons Available: Summer and Winter
Requirements: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a college program
Compensation & Hours:

  • Winter Internship Dates - 8 Weeks during February-March, $2,400 stipend (may be split if shared position) with varying hours Tuesday–Friday (includes some evenings and weekends)
  • Summer Internship Dates - 16 Weeks during May-August, $4,200 stipend (may be split if shared position) with varying hours Tuesday–Friday (includes some evenings and weekends)

Description

The Technical Internship is ideal for students interested in the behind-the-scenes operations of live entertainment and performing arts. Interns will work closely with our Production and Technical staff and gain hands-on experience in:

  • Set construction and painting
  • Props maintenance and costume assistance
  • Lighting and sound setup
  • Rehearsal and stage crew duties during productions
  • General stage and theatre maintenance

Ideal Candidate Skills

  • Basic carpentry and painting skills
  • Familiarity with power tools
  • Knowledge of lighting, props, costumes, or stage equipment
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, and Drive

Professional Expectations

  • Punctual, reliable, and respectful
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Comfortable with creative problem-solving in a fast-paced environment

The Marketing Internship is perfect for students exploring careers in marketing, arts administration, public relations, or communications. Interns will work under the guidance of our Marketing team and gain hands-on experience in:

  • Public Relations and Event Marketing
  • Digital Marketing and Content Creation
  • Website Design and Management
  • Print Production and Distribution
  • Non-Profit Administration

Ideal Candidate Skills
