Since 1992, the Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings (MSYS) has nurtured young musicians, offering them additional instruction and ensemble experience. Comprising approximately 50 students in grades 6 through 10, the program fosters collaboration, technical skill, and a passion for music.
Under the direction of Alora Eyerly, MSYS performs a dynamic blend of classical and contemporary works, engaging audiences both at the Renaissance Theatre and throughout the community. This program is part of the Mansfield Symphony’s education initiative, enriching the cultural landscape of North Central Ohio while providing students with invaluable opportunities for musical and personal growth.
Alora Eyerly, a Mansfield native and accomplished violinist, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the program. With a background in violin, piano, and extensive ensemble performance, she is committed to inspiring the next generation of musicians.

About the Youth Strings
The Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings is made up of some of North Central Ohio’s finest string musicians, primarily in middle and junior high school, from a twelve-county region, representing approximately thirty members this season who perform concerts both onstage at the Renaissance and in the community. A vital part of the Mansfield Symphony’s Education initiative, the MSYS gives middle and junior high school students an additional opportunity for musical growth by rehearsing and performing with other student musicians from the area, allowing them the chance to perform a wide variety of music.
