Youth Strings

Join us for an enchanting evening of music at the Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings (MSYS) Spring Concert, the grand finale of our season. This performance marks the culmination of a year's worth of dedication, practice, and passion from our talented young musicians. Since its inception in 1992, the Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings program has been a cornerstone of musical education in our community. Designed for students in grades 6 through 10, MSYS offers approximately 50 young musicians the opportunity to enhance their musical skills and experience the joy of playing in an ensemble. Our program emphasizes musical growth, collaboration, and the development of a lifelong appreciation for music in a nurturing and supportive environment.

This Spring Concert is not just a performance; it is a celebration of our students' journey and achievements over the past year. Attendees can expect a diverse repertoire showcasing the impressive talent and hard work of our young musicians, with performances that highlight both individual and collective growth. It promises to be an inspiring evening that celebrates the power of music and the dedication of our youth. Don't miss this special event! Mark your calendars and be part of an unforgettable evening celebrating the Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings. We look forward to seeing you there!

About the Youth Orchestra

The MSYO is made up of some of North Central Ohio’s finest musicians, primarily in high school, from a 12-county region. It is the only youth orchestra within a 65 mile radius of Mansfield and represents approximately 90 members each season who perform concerts both onstage at the Renaissance and in the community.

A vital part of the Mansfield Symphony’s Education initiative, the MYSO gives high school students an additional opportunity for musical growth by rehearsing and performing with other student musicians from the area, particularly if their high school is unable to offer a full orchestra experience. By participating in the MSYO program, students get the chance to perform a wide variety of fine orchestral music within a full symphony orchestra.
