The musical follows the journey of Nellie Forbush, a spirited young nurse from Arkansas, who falls in love with Emile de Becque, a French plantation owner with a mysterious past. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Joseph Cable, a Marine officer, finds himself captivated by the enchanting Liat, a native islander. However, their love encounters obstacles due to racial tensions and the complexities of war.
As the characters navigate love, duty, and prejudice, the musical explores themes of tolerance, acceptance, and the human capacity for change.
