Godspell Jr. (Sensory-Friendly) will conclude MY Theatre’s sixth season of sensory-friendly performances of youth theatre musicals for families with children and adults on the autism-spectrum and other developmental disabilities. This production is best suited for those audience members who are 12 years of age and older, and their families; but audience members of any age may attend.

MY Theatre’s Sensory-Friendly performances began with Shrek: The Musical in 2017, and the program has continued to engage and excite audience members of all ages. Musicals are performed in a friendly, supportive environment with slight adjustments to the production, including the reduction of any jarring sounds or lights focused into the audience area. Within the theatre, there is a quiet and play area, if family members need to leave their seats during the performance. For these special performances, no-cost, limited seating is available to individuals and families with developmental disabilities.

For tickets and additional information regarding our Sensory-Friendly Performances, please contact Dauphne Maloney, 419-522-2726, ext. 212, or [email protected].

About The Show

A timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love, Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award-winner, Stephen Schwartz, and it took the world by storm. Boasting a score with chart topping songs, Godspell is a sensation that continues to touch audiences. A group of disciples help Jesus tell parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, are employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage, conveying messages of kindness, tolerance and love.
