We are eager to welcome you back for a safe and memorable experience at the Renaissance Theatre. Our commitment to the health and safety of our guests, artists and performers, staff and volunteers is always our first priority.
MASKS: OPTIONAL
Per CDC guidelines and recommendations from, audience members may choose whether to wear a mask in any Renaissance Theatre building, although there may be exceptions required by certain artists or productions. We ask that all audience members be respectful of one another's choices. Guests exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or who have tested positive within the last 14 days must stay home. The Renaissance Theatre will continue to provide masks at the door that are free to visitors at public performances.
VACCINATIONS: RECOMMENDED
Per the CDC, vaccinations are strongly recommended but not required for guests at Renaissance Theatre.

Stay Home If Ill
Ticket holders who have been exposed to COVID-19 and/or are experiencing symptoms are asked to remain at home and contact the Renaissance Theatre to discuss flexible options for their tickets.
Cashless Transactions
We encourage all transactions to be cashless. All food and beverage purchases including concessions can be made with a valid debit or credit card. We also accept mobile wallet options such as Apple Pay or Google Pay for concessions and bar payment.
Air Quality
The Renaissance Theatre is equipped with the latest HVAC technology, including bi-polar ionization equipment, set to maximize fresh air ventilation in accordance with best practices as determined by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) performance.
Seating
All engagements will be ticketed up to full capacity. If you or your party have concerns about social distancing, please contact the box office at boxoffic[email protected] and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Tickets
Please consider providing your tickets at the door via your mobile device for an easy, touch-free experience. As a reminder, all guests must have a ticket.

Operations Safety Measures for Public Performances Renaissance Performing Arts (Revised 2/25/2022)
Below is a sampling of policies that are being included as part of a comprehensive strategy to prevent the spread of disease at Renaissance events. Using guidelines from the CDC, WHO, ODH, and other public health officials, this list has been compiled in accordance with best practices from the Ren’s network of performing arts presenters, historic theatres, and arts organizations.
Guidelines for Indoor Performances at Renaissance Theatre
Patron Safety
Masks: Optional

Proof of Vaccinations: Not Required
Proof of vaccination is not required to attend public events.

Proof of Negative COVID-19 Test Result: Not Required
Proof a negative COVID-19 test result is not required to attend public events.
As we approach a lower rate of COVID-19 transmission in Richland County per the CDC, proof of a negative COVID-19 test result not required for guests at Renaissance Theatre effective March 1, 2022.
However we strongly encourage testing if you or a member of your party experience any symptoms of COVID-19.
Venue Cleaning
● All surfaces will be cleaned and seats/venue sanitized with an electrostatic fogger between each performance, rehearsal, and event.
● Frequency of cleaning will be increased in all areas, with adequate time for thorough cleaning between events.
● High-touch surfaces (railings, elevators, bathrooms) and high-traffic areas will be cleaned throughout the duration of events.
Minimizing Contact and Virus Spread
● Tickets will be accepted via mobile device or print-at-home and scanned at the door rather than torn. Physical tickets may still be picked up at Will Call if at-home printing is unavailable.
● Programs will be digital or placed on seats in advance whenever possible.
● Shields will be used between patrons and volunteers/employees at Concessions/Bar and Will Call.
● HVAC systems will be set to maximize fresh air ventilation, following guidance provided by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
● Concessions will be limited to foods and drinks that are prepackaged and/or can be prepared and individually packaged in advance. Concessions will follow Responsible ReStart Guidance for Restaurants, Bars, Banquet & Catering Facilities/Services.
● Patrons will receive a pre-show communication (“Know Before You Go”) that communicates the importance of staying home if sick, face covering requirements, and need to maintain physical separation when possible.
● Use of self-service racks of flyers, brochures, etc., promoting upcoming performances, etc. will be discontinued.
● When possible, intermissions will be eliminated or shortened. If an intermission is held, an announcement will be made at the start that facial coverings must be worn, congregating in the lobby is prohibited, and patrons should return to their seats as quickly as possible.
Patron Expectations and Hygiene
● Masks are required while in the building, and patrons will be provided with masks if needed. Patrons must wear masks at all times unless eating or drinking.
● Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the building for regular use.
● Patrons will be provided sanitizing towels to use to wipe down seats if requested for an additional assurance.
● Patrons must conduct daily health symptom assessments before attending a performance. Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or who have recently been sick or had a fever must not attend, and flexible refund/exchange policies will accommodate this.
● All ticket sales will collect contact information so that patrons may be reached if needed.
Performer/Crew Guidelines
● Masks are required during rehearsals and offstage during performances as much as possible.
● Temperature checks and symptom assessments will be given upon arrival for each rehearsal and performance. Performers who are sick or showing signs of illness will be sent home immediately. Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms must stay home and seek testing as soon as possible.
● Hand sanitizer stations are placed in the wings and at the stage doors for regular sanitizing.
● A minimum of 6 feet will be maintained between individuals when not rehearsing/performing. When rehearsing/performing, physical distance will be maintained to the extent possible. When not possible, the amount and length of close contact will be limited as much as possible. Young performers will be monitored by an employee or volunteer to ensure proper distancing.
● Instrumental performers must be spaced at least 6 feet apart while onstage. Wind musicians are requested to take steps to minimize air spread by utilizing bell covers.
● Temporary dressing room spaces will provide additional space for performers to practice social distancing.
● Rehearsals are closed to all outside visitors and guests not in the show, and there will be no congregating before or after rehearsals or performances.
● Rehearsal length will be reduced as much as possible to limit contact time between performers.
● Air flow will be maximized during rehearsals/performances, with circulation of outdoor air increased as much as possible during indoor events.
● Actors will rehearse within a grid structure while onstage, and stage blocking will utilize social distancing guidelines.
● Surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized between each rehearsal/performance.
● There will be no sharing of props, water bottles or other drinks, food, facial coverings, etc.
● Props, personal items, and technical equipment may not be shared and will have proper separation when not in use.
● Performers must strictly follow all face covering orders and personal hygiene recommendations while in public to reduce their risk of contracting and potentially spreading COVID-19 during performance activities.
● Individuals exposed to close or direct physical contact with someone confirmed to have COVID-19 must self-quarantine. The affected person should seek testing as soon as possible, and work with the local health department to ensure proper contact tracing.
● Performers and Crew who break the safety agreement signed before rehearsals will immediately forfeit their role in that production.
Guidelines for Staff, Performers, Crew, and Volunteers
Performer/Crew Guidelines
● Proof of vaccination must be provided before the first rehearsal. If proof cannot be provided, performers/crew must provide negative COVID-19 test results every 72 hours.
● Masks are required at all times during rehearsals and offstage during performances.
● Plexiglass shields and/or face shields/coverings will be used by performers while onstage whenever practicable.
● Temperature checks and symptom assessments will be given upon arrival for each rehearsal and performance. Performers who are sick or showing signs of illness will be sent home immediately. Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms must stay home and seek testing as soon as possible.
● Hand sanitizer stations are placed at the stage stairs for regular sanitizing.
● A minimum of 6 feet will be maintained between individuals when not rehearsing/performing. When rehearsing/ performing, physical distance will be maintained to the extent possible. When not possible, the amount and length of close contact will be limited as much as possible.

● Masks are required at all times unless working alone in a designated area.
● Temperatures must be taken and recorded before reporting to work each day. Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms must stay home and seek testing as soon as possible.
● Employees are expected to sanitize work stations throughout the day, with shared office equipment (copier, mailing machine, paper cutter, etc.) sanitized immediately after use.
● Hands must be washed or hand sanitizer used regularly throughout the day.
● Business hours have been modified to allow for employees to telework and ensure proper distancing, with in-person meetings discouraged to limit the number of visitors in the building.
● Employee meetings have been moved, restructured, and limited to allow for adequate social distancing.
● Individuals exposed to close or direct physical contact with someone confirmed to have COVID-19 must self-quarantine for 14 days. The affected person should seek testing as soon as possible, and work with the local health department to ensure proper contact tracing.
