Steve Brown's famous 5-piece ensemble will perform a diverse variety of jazz style including swing, Latin and ballads, chosen primarily from the Great American Songbook. Included will be the works of Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Duke Ellington, Billy Joel and many others to keep your toes tapping all night long!
This local group will perform some of the great music from the American Songbook as a platform to showcase their interpretive and improvisational skills. This evening of authentic live jazz will feature the works of such composers as George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Sammy Cahn, Jimmy Van Heusen, Rodgers & Hart, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Bob James and many others.
Steve Brown on piano, is a resident of Lexington. A long time area educator, he is a multi-instrumentalist who is active throughout Ohio as a solo keyboard player and vocalist, as well as a free lance musician in several groups.
The other band members include: Eric Fairhurst from Wooster on saxophone and flute; Jeffrey Boyd from Mansfield on trumpet and vocals; Dan Conwell from Wooster on upright bass; Steve Berry from Ashland on drums.
All are members of the American Federation of Musicians, Mansfield Local 159.
