Princes and Princesses…BREAKING the mold!
Fracturing the fairy tale! After our last visit with the traditional tale of Cinderella, this series will allow students to explore fairy tales and classic stories from a different point of view. Taking on a variety of story elements such as main characters, time periods, and conflict, students will discuss the twists and turns that occur when you change a few key elements of these familiar (and now fractured) stories. Participants will use Readers’ Theatre as a jumping-off point to learn more about story structure, developing character traits, and creating conflict to gain a better understanding of how the fractured fairy tale has evolved. Emphasis will be placed on attention to detail, story interpretation, speaking, and listening.
(PARTICIPATION IN PREVIOUS SESSIONS IS NOT REQUIRED.)
