- 4 weeks, beginning Tuesday, August 18th @ 4:30 PM
- 40 minutes - limit 12 students per session
Stories from around the world…no glass slipper required!
Many cultures have shared folktales as passed down from one generation to the next—including “Cinderella” stories. Estimated to have more than one thousand versions spanning the globe, the story is one of the best-known tales in the world. During this series, students will explore “Cinderella’s” stories through the lens of several points of view (including the story of Bubba, The Cowboy Prince). Students will discuss character traits of the main characters; how the settings and culture of each story influence the outcome of the tale; and how the art form of Readers’Theatre makes an impression on its audience. Emphasis will be placed on speaking, listening, attention to detail, and story interpretation. Class size is limited to 12, and requires a minimum of 6 participants. (PARTICIPATION IN PREVIOUS SESSIONS IS NOT REQUIRED.)
