All the World’s a Script – Musical Storytelling and Social Impact (GRADES 9-12)

• 4 weeks, beginning Monday, August 17^th @ 4:00 PM 
• 60 minutes - limit 10 students per session
• Class may be repeated, with different script offerings, depending upon interest and participation

Scripts and Storytelling - MUSICAL style!

A continuation of the popular, sold-out “All the World’s a Script” QuaRENtine Classroom series, this REN-spiration offering is designed to further explore the storytelling power of the musical.  Following our reading sessions of  Our Town and The Addams Family, our newest session will feature the reading of a classical musical theatre piece. During this experience, students will discuss and discover ways in which the art of musical theatre can address social issues, and impact society. Subject areas discussed may include musical theatre history and terminology; story/plot development; and theatrical concept.  (***NOTE: This class would also be a good choice for those seeking audition material!)  Class size is limited to 10, and requires a minimum of 6 participants. (Script choices may be based upon number of registered participants. PARTICIPATION IN PREVIOUS SESSIONS IS NOT REQUIRED.)
