Based upon one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney's The Little Mermaid is an incredibly beautiful love story for audience members of all ages. Featuring music by Academy Award winner, Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and book by Doug Wright, this fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl," and "Part of Your World."
In a magical kingdom under the seas, Ariel, King Triton's youngest daughter, longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above and pursue the human, Prince Eric. She bargains with the sea witch, Ursula, to trade her voice for human legs. But, the bargain is not as it seems, and Ariel needs the help of her friends, Flounder, Scuttle, and Sebastian, to restore order under the sea. Performed by the youth of the Mansfield Youth Theatre, with direction by Dauphne Maloney and musical direction by Brian K. Nabors, Disney's The Little Mermaid is an enduring, charming family musical, which reminds us that love truly can conquer all.
